Subliminal

The Bennet Institute for Psychic Research and Development, more commonly known by the locals as simply The Institute, was established in the year 1948 by Professor Joffrey Bennet. A well known and respected author and educator in the field of psychology, Joffrey was fascinated by the human mind, and the incredible things it was capable of. His field of expertise was psychic abilities, and the resulting livelihoods of those who manifested them. After writing several papers on the subject, and conducting interviews with established psychics, he discovered that there had never been a place to gather and teach individuals who struggled with their psychic abilities.

In the beginning, Joffrey had nothing but a large house and seemingly endless good intentions. With the help of colleagues around the world, word got out about what he was trying to do. Some people he sought out. Other people, after the word had spread, approached him. It took some time, but soon Joffrey became extremely adept at working with psychics. When he passed away in 1996, he passed his legacy onto his only son, Alexander.

The Institute specializes in the study and research of psychic abilities. The staff there, headed by Alexander Bennet, work with individuals who possess psychic talents but struggle to control them. These students will live at the Institute for a period of time, undergoing testing and studies until the staff feel they have sufficient control over their abilities. After leaving, the students are expected to return for periodic testing, to chart any progress they've made, and ensure they've maintained that level of control.

SUBLIMINAL is a slice-of-life game... with a twist. Not a traditional supernatural/paranormal game, the object of the characters here is to eventually be able to seamlessly integrate into the 'regular' world. Our game will focus heavily on in-character interaction and conversation, with community-wide plots and activities to keep things fresh. We intend on building a world that will have writers interested in developing their characters further, forming relationships, and getting involved in any in-depth lines that come up.
